About the Assessment
The DIAQoLPet (Diabetes Quality of Life for Pets) questionnaire is a validated research tool developed to assess how diabetes and its management affect both you and your pet's quality of life. This 29-question assessment will help you understand the overall impact of diabetes on your pet's wellbeing.
After completing the questionnaire, you will receive an immediate email with your pet's Average Weighted Impact Score (AWIS), along with detailed interpretation and comparison to published research data.

What is the AWIS (Average Weighted Impact Score)?
The AWIS is calculated from your responses to 29 questions about your pet's diabetes management. Each question asks about:
- Frequency: How often does this situation occur?
- Importance: How much does this impact you and your pet?
Your responses are weighted and averaged to produce a score ranging from -15 to +15.
Interpreting Your Score
Negative Scores (below 0)
Indicate that diabetes management is having a negative impact on quality of life
Positive Scores (above 0)
Suggest that positive aspects (such as increased bonding) outweigh the challenges
Scores near 0
Indicate a balanced impact with minimal overall effect on quality of life
